Hey everyone not a serious mod but more curious than anything. I have an 81 xj750r seca. I was wondering if any one has mounted a 750 maxim handle bar master cylinder and if it works. What needs to be done. As well as if the dual brakes would work. Also does an 81 seca and an 82 seca have different master cylinders?

As long as internal piston size is the same it will work.
The size is cast into the case it will say 9/16, 5/8 or 15 or 14 etc. This size is critical to making brakes and anti dive and 1 or 2 calliper system work. General rule single or double calliper and tilted or flat master cylinder
First pic 83 xj750 Maxim( tilted)
    Second is 85 Xj700n ( flat )
    Both have 5/8 bore piston
Both My Xj750rl and my xj650rjc have the flat 5/8 master cylinder .

Just for clarity's sake, do not fit the master cylinder from a 750 Maxim unless you plan on fitting bars with a sufficient angle to keep the master cylinder running flat. Running it tilted will cause brake line pressure to drop, exactly when you don't want it to.
