Does anybody have a video that shows how to use the color tune tool for an inline 4 cylinder?

I find many YouTube videos, yet none show how to do the middle cylinders using the mirror attachment.

For the airheads, you don't need the mirror....it makes it a bit easier for the inside cyls, but you can work around that. The X is what you really need it for-- it's cause te plugs Are down in that deep well.

It's still pretty straight forward..... Stick it in ,hook up the lead, fire up, look at the plug.

You should be using a remote fuel tank when adjusting the mixtures. That way you have clear acess to all the carbs, and you can see straight down to the color tune.
Do the same when performing a running synch.

I just propped the back end of my fuel tank up so as to gain access to mixture screws. Didn't need the mirror. Did mine in conjunction with a running carb sync. Sync first then colortune then repeated 2 more times. Pretty simple procedure.

Then why do so many people whine about it? Or valves?

I wish Fitz was here. I miss his "There are no magic cure-alls" rants.

Id say that a lot of people are unsure when it comes to doing some things. Like getting out of your comfort zone. Id bet after doing these things they most likely will say it wasn't that bad after all.

Indeed getting out of your comfort zone is a good idea.
In reference to the valve issue apparently ya'll have the air cooled version cause the water cooled version (85-86 maxim X) is a bit of a bugger to say the least.

Because people just like to complain about things.

I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain. The constant whining, crying, and belly-aching about the tiniest thing really gets under my skin. You'd think people could just suck it up and put on their big boy underwear and just deal with it!!!! But noooooOOOOO!!!! Gotta COMPLAIN about something instead of actually DOING SOMETHING ABOUT it..... or just being mature and ignoring trivial things-- and not wasting energy complaining. I mean, really-- waaah, waaah, waaaah...... c'mon, get a grip and shut up.....

    Hah hah--- gotcha:p

I've never been able to get the Colortune to do much. My carbs have been to Church but the flame color of the Colortune doesn't change a whole lot on mine. Maybe it's my eyes but I can go from 1.5 turns out on the mixture screws all the way to 3.5 to 4 turns out without the colors changing much. I never get white, blue, and orange like I'm supposed to. I get light blue from the beginning all the way till 3.5 to 4 turns out when it finally turns somewhat orange. I just don't see that as being very accurate....too large of a range. Like I said, I'm sure it's my eyes or I'm doing something wrong but I've tried my best with it and can't seem to get it to be useful. My bike runs good except for it being a little touchy with the choke or enrichment position....more than a tiny amount of the choke being on and it won't start or stay running. I probably need to get the mixture screws adjusted by somebody who can make the Colortune work right.

k-moe, I've used an unlit propane torch to check and didn't find any. It acts like it's too rich if I turn the choke all the way on or even halfway on. I have to tap the choke lever to just barely open it a little once the fingers touch the plungers and then it will usually warm up there. Once warm, it starts right up and runs and idles smooth. I'm thinking I need to spend some time with the mixture screws and reading plugs.
