back to the old ways, sort of. Because i usually don't remember to turn off my turn signals when i do remember to use them, I'm going back to the setup from back in the day, sort of.

some of you remember the two signal switches, one on each side. push the button and the light flashes, let go and it stops. only i don't want two switches, so...

a spdt three position switch, momentary-off-momentary should fit right in the original switch housing push the switch right, right side blinks, let go it stops. with a plate to fill the slot where the original lever went, drill a hole, solder three wires and down the road we go.

but things are never as easy as they sound so when this gets started I'll take some pictures

    and fill in some details

    1) keeping some chips out would have been nice but if the paper got caught in the cutter, bad news
    2) had to make it thinner so the threads on the switch reached and move the terminals away from the bars
    3) nothing's straight, have to work off of a level, sort of :)
    4) spot face counter sink to get it nice and flat and expose more threads
    5-6) it fits
    7) seems easy enough to operate

solder it up and some JB Weld maybe a few alignment pins tomorrow

I bet that feels pretty slick too, could just stick your thumb on top of the switch and push/pull effortlessly.

My signal switch does this on its own (act as a momentary switch)... I've found I actually like it a lot like that. I was always notorious for forgetting to turn off signals before :)

I like it. Minus the switch itself. Maybe a rubber boot?

    9) dog check
10)those solder joints aren't as bad as they look but they do look bad :)
    11) little bit of hot glue for insurance
    12 ) someday i'll make it pretty
    13) need to lube the cables and go for a ride

they have rubber caps for these switches, i think i need one
