As some of you know, I recently betrayed the Yamaha tribe by purchasing a Honda Rebel. To complete the betrayal, I have also joined another forum focused on that model. Know what? The other guys are no where near as awesome as xjbikes! Not only the people here, but the functionality of the site as well. This place is better organized, the pages better layed out, legibility is higher, the categories are more logical, and so on. I want to thank SnoSherrif and the moderators on a job well done! Even though I sold the xj months ago, I still visit daily. I think of you folks as my friends I've never met. Keep it up, peeps!

I totally agree. I bought a Honda Rebel for easy trips around town and I really like it. But it doesn't replace my XJ700N--no way.

I recently joined a forum for Ford Bronco owners and even though there is quite a bit of good information there, the forum layout is down right aggravating, and before you can post in the normal section you have to post in a "Flame free zone"

Out of the half dozen or so forums I have visited this is by far the best forum with the best members.

After a time of regret selling your xj, the tug will pull you back to the fold.

Rebels are fun! My wife has one but I will ride it from time to time. I look like a circus clown with my legs sticking out but it is light and you can throw it around and skid the back end sideways like we did as kids with our bikes. I think I know what forum you are talking about too.

I just like to work on lots of different metric bikes so I am on a few forums. I enjoy this forum above them all! The people here share and explain their knowledge in a much friendlier way. The pool of information and can do attitude is contagious and inspires me to share as well.

Talking about Rebels, l'm not a fan of the new ones. The only thing they have going for them are the larger engines. Honda probably just dropped the Rebel brand an call the something else.

As long as @Toomanybikes hasn't bought up all the XJs in Canada by then.

The new one i not as simple as the old ones. Is simplicity the point of the Rebel? I like the new look and the new engine, but the guys at the other forums certainly don't like anything about it!

The new Rebels are dead simple for the rider. Get on, turn the key, push the start button, pop her into gear, and ride away.
This will happen 365 days a year, for decades (if not abused), regardless of outdoor temperature.
I haven't read any opinions of the bike, but if it's even remotely similar to the fuel injected SR400, then it's going to be a well-liked bike , and serve the current new generation of riders very well.

I will back this ^^^ up.
Recent problem with a different unnamed vehicle took me to another forum that I have been a member of for many years, not so much to hangout but for specific vehicle issues/ questions. I posted a question on this unnamed forum and after approximately 150 views there are Zero, Zip, Nil, Nada replies.

Here standing members, newbies, old and crusties - it don't matter. Someone posts a question and there is almost always a quick and collaborative surge of solid advice/ experiences. (and sometimes bacon)

There is nothing better than a community of like-minded individuals with respect and appreciation for each other.
Best place on the WWW right here.

Honestly, I was pretty surprised when I stumbled here while researching a bike I was considering buying - my 750j - and this forum contributed to my buying the XJ instead of a CB900C I was also looking at.

However, my last bike (Ironhead Sportster) was a rough experience. There were forums of course, but with varying levels of... Unpleasantness. Particularly if you where using any metric parts.

Never a place I wanted to visit any more than absolutely necessary, and even then it was really hard to get clear and unbiased answers.

Having a good support network makes dealing with old bikes like these so much less frustrating.
