fat tire

    somebody give me some advice I just picked up an 80 650 and i wanna make a bobber but i wanna run a fat tire on front can I go with a fatter one on stock rim or do i need to find a wider rim?

    you can go fatter but at some point the tire may not stay on rim or will affect control. consider that maxims use the same size rim from 550 to 750 finding a wider rim may be a problem

    Best bet would be to adapt a wider front end from a different bike with a wire spoke rim, and lace a wider rim on to the new hub.
