Hope I'm doing this right. New to the whole forum experience. Recently purchased an '81 550 maxim to begin my riding career. Needless to say it needs everything gone through. I've looked through different sites and other forums for all my other interests, but this is the first one I was compelled to join one. I am just amazed at the wealth of knowledge and the help other members give! I think the biggest thing that tripped my trigger in joining is that I really did not see anyone put down for their lack of knowledge when asking questions. So many other sites I would see verbal bullying by the other members. Life's too short to put up with that. Looking forward to contributing what I can. Thanks to all

You will find that these machines are virtually bullet-proof. Virtually.

Welcome, and enjoy your 550. Really good information (mechanical, morale and parts support) from the people on this site. I'm not a mechanic, but have learned to do all the work on mine with the help from the good people on this site.

Parts availability - don't even think about anyplace else than member Chacal - XJ4ever top right link on this website.
