I currently have a 1982 XJ550 Maxim project bike that im working on wiring switches to. I swapped to one inch bars and i have one inch controls im trying to wire. My main issue is that the original switches on the bike were ground activated (at least from what i could figure). The controls i am trying to wire up are activated by actually drawing power. I managed to get the starter and killswitch wired. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

horn button same as starter button complete circuit to ground through the bars on the oem bars.
does your horn button have 2 wires? om the xj 550 hot wire runs to horn then from horn pink wire runs to button when button is pressed the ground is made
so if your horn button has 2 wires you can hook pink to it and other wire to ground.
or run your hot wire to button then to horn and ground 1 tab on the horn to frame.
do you have a link to your new controls? or a wiring diagram of them?

what switchs do you need help with ?

I need help with all the lights basically. I'm by no means a professional at wiring so I really wanted to get some help so that I don't somehow wire the horn to the brake lights (lol)

I didn't plan on making my own harness. I have the diagram but I just don't know how to go about making it work

yes a link would help a lot. I would assume it is mostly a stright forward conversion except for the directionals.
