been modifying my 82 maxim 550 and starting to put it back together. Headlight wont come on and no turn signals. I can get power from the tail and brake wire but brake wire is constant hot..shouldnt be. I have a wiring diagram and chased downnthe wires and all look good. Fuses are good, and checked the headlight to constant power and works fine. any help or threads would be appreciated.

head light bike must be running or motor spun fast enough to trigger relay to close .
the majority of yamaha switches complete the circuit to ground. horn wire and horn alway shot then goes to switch and ground.
same with starter button hot goes to solinoid first then wire goes to starter button press and ground is made

brakes is your brake light always on?
fuse runs hot to switch then to bulb then to ground.
rear brake switch has a spring on it to pedal and switch height is adjustable remove spring see if light goes out.
front brake switch same power setup look close at it and see if body of switch is coming apart
front switch wire connector is in headlight bucket disconnect it see if light goes out brown wire and green/yellow wire.
find connector for pedal switch disconnect brown wire yellow wire

Ok as far as the blinkers go im leaning toward the switch. Opened and cleaned relay no result. Opened the switch cover and played around and got them to light but not flash, when they lit i heard tge relay click. No conections looked bad and the inside of the relay looked great. I know i seen a thread taking about the switch with pics of it but cant find it now. I was searching for answers before i posted this thread. Can you lead me to that one by chance?
