Hey guys, I have a 1984 XJ750RL which has a small click in the center of the handlebar travel when the front tire is pointed forward. It is failing the safety here in Canada because of it. I need to source a new set of replacement bearings and races but no one seems to have access to any. Is there a replacement or cross reference/upgrade that will work on my bike. Thanks

Hey Ricktor, I have the same problem with my xj750, I got my mechanically inclined brother to do all the hard work while I scrolled through this forum looking for cool mods for him to complete.

the 84 already came with tapered bearings if I remember correctly. It was a one off year... 83 was different and 85 was also different. I also believe the 1984 XJ750RL shares the 900 frame with the 750 motor. So that is why it isn't up there on allballsracing which leads me back to my problem ... nobody can find these bearings. Chacal hasn't got back to me yet and I hope he has good news :)

    Welcome Riktor
I have the Xj750rl as well and use
yamahapartsnation.com to look up part numbers using the 83 xj900rk
And the oem equivalent air filter from hi-flo # 4901 listed for 900

Oh my. It seems that I have made an ass of at least one of us! In my defense, your bike is not so common, I forgot it was basically a 900 frame. These are the things that keep me from becoming a guru...

NO - I think it is those pictures of you with that elderly couple that have been circulating on the internet.... I mean really to each his own but the fishing tackle, vultures and the polyester Nun outfits may have been a bit much.
