I am a new owner of an 82 Seca 750. My question is that the gear ratio seems to be very short for a 750. I don't have specific numbers, bu t I need to run high rev's to tour at highway speeds. Were there differnt final drive ratioos in the Seca's? I can imaging it will not be easy to change the shaft drive ratios.

    Thanks for any info!

to answer your question in a word, no, general consensus is that the bike was made to rev on the highway... i'm thinkin around 5K at 65mph is what people have said. The bike likes it, trust me. There's no aftermarket for the tranny so no gear swaps there. People have muttered things about swapping final drives out of other period yams, but to my knowledge noone has ever attempted it.

That's what I was thinking, but thanks for the confirmation.
