Regarding the Fuel Overflow lines between Carbs 1&2 and 3&4 what should I be doing with these during the Wet Set procedure? I had them pointed at the ceiling during my first attempt, I cut the fuel on and gasoline was spurting out from the overflows in no time.
Should they be above/below the Carbs or plugged?

I have read (no mention in the service manuals) on the forums that they are supposed to be positioned below the Carbs while on the bike during operation. Is this correct?

Drop them into glass containers so you capture any overflow.
With the floats pre-set by measuring float high with a ruler, you can avoid the float bowls overflowing.

Yes, the overflow tubes just hang down towards the ground when the carbs are on the bike.
