I have noticed on alot of the xj650 maxim cafe builds use same size rims on front and rear , which look to be 16 inch. What front rim is used to match the rear rim? Is it a rear rim that has been modified? Thanks

there is a mod for rear to be put on front but the guy selling the kit has not been here in quite a while. I think you will find the rims are from a newer yamaha.

There's also the little handling issues that come from having the same width tire front and rear.

Im trying to determine if i should just put a 17 on front then ... now that i look at it most people run a 17 in front or both 17 from what it looks like. I was able to get ahold of him he is doing a batch but wont ship till mid nov n they are 195 shipped to lower 48 . Is the xj750 17 a direct fit for both rear and front.

17’s were never original equipment on the XJs, the Seca 2 used them later.
Skylark adapted a 17 rear on his shadow warrior project I think, I’m thinking he used an Xj900 Diversion wheel.
If you get hubs from the spoked wheel Virago you can lace custom wheels to whatever you choose.

Most people run the stock rims actually, even on cafe' builds.

XJ 650/750 fronts are always 19" rims. Rears are either 16" (Maxim), or 18" (Seca).
