We use a lot of care storing our bikes for the winter season but what can I do to store my helmet. I do not want a funky smell when slam on the helmet for the first spring ride.

Come on I need help. My girlfriend wants to put sachets of lavender and fairy dust in my helmet for the winter. We had snow the other day!

You might see if your girlfriend will polish if for you. I warn you though, the shine probably won't last long. Then you'll be begging for her to do it over and over again. 8O

Tell you the truth, I just give the inside a light cleaning with my hands, spray some Febreeze in, then store it away in a helmet bag for the winter.... never needed anything more.

If you're lid's dirty or covered in bug guts, you'll probably want to clean/polish it first of course....
