This morning I went for a ride and noticed a sticking caliper on the xj650 max. I'd never gone for a ride on a 30 degree day and this was the first time it happened. This won't be the first time I've taken apart a caliper to clean and rebuild. I wanted to ask other riders if it is possible to get a caliper working so well that it retracts well even in freezing cold weather. Thanks and happy thanksgiving!

I've never had a good working caliper act up in Cold weather. Either it's a coinkydink or you have some old fluid in there that has picked up some water that froze......
Brake fluid shouldn't be affected by cold. Even my snowmobiles' hydraulic brakes dont act up when it 0 degrees Fahrenheit ,or below.......

Today I took the caliper apart. Luckily the rubber and piston were in really good shape. They just needed cleaning and grease. I put new fluid in and now it's working great. Thanks for the tip, Dave

One bit of maintainance that we (I) often forget, is to replace the brake fluid annually (every two years at the most).
