Since the topic of avoiding the one salvage yard came up, that begs the question: what shops would one avoid in the Phoenix area, and better yet, which ones to recommend?

I'm going to be heading out to the Phoenix area again this Xmas; if I can't locate the remaining parts I need for the oil cooler by then, I might be inclined to stop by a yard or two.

    So: any suggestions?

I will search the internet for a shop, and maybe tomorrow I will be able to check on an oil cooler for you, do you have any of the parts? I am pretty sure I can get all but the bolt for plate to block and the plate. There were several of the radiator parts.

There are a few more sites on this page:
    http://www.usedmcparts.com/links/ffa-Arizona.html

But some of them would be quite out of your way if you are coming from Ca, I saw 2 of them in Tucson, to the south of Phoenix. Hope this helps, figured a few is good with a good page for more, but I cannot vouch for any of them!

I can google for a shop as well as anyone; I was hoping to have someone from the Phoenix area chime in.

If you could check your local source for price and availability on the hoses and radiator to go with the plate and bolt that I already have, that would be most helpful.

My friend, that is the easiest part, i got the plate and radiator/hoses for $30. If you are in my general area and able to go to the shop, their address is:
    Parts Unlimited
    10731 Chestnut Ave
    Stanton, CA 90680
Just a little bit east of Long Beach.
I did not mean anything by posting the addresses of salvage yards in pheonix areas without knowing how they do business, only trying to help. I am somewhat of a computer geek, putting together and programing my own system(s). I have years of searching for stuff online and am happy to help those who have more trouble than myself getting information. I have plenty of experience and know how to work the search engines.
