I just looked at the web site where there are directions for making the Sigmal Lights into Emergency Flashers.

The Plans indicate that you have to sacrifice the Kill Switch to wire-up the Signals to be Flashers.

THAT ... is Not a good idea.
I wouldn't want to do away with the Kill Switch under any circumstance.
I wouldn't recommend wiring the Signals to be Flashers by using the Kill Switch.

Add the Double Pole - Center Off Switch as a solution and don't use the Kill Switch. Keep the Kill Switch active.

    You may Need it!

Keep the kill to keep from being killed.

What's the website that shows how to wire them up, I am looking to use my aux light switch, I don't use the aux light due to the fairing, and looking at a 1100 set of switches on ebay, it seems that model has them, and is in the same type of switch

When I dumped my bike in that patch of oil, the first thing I did after picking myself up off the ground was rush over and hit the kill switch. Doing so saved the bike from being drowned in its own fuel. Kill switches are a must-have!

It's just as easy to turn off the key switch so why do you need a second switch? I don't see any need for two.

Rick, I'm still interested in what that website has to offer. Could you pass the link along pretty please? I've no interest in eliminating my kill switch, I'd like to keep the bikes essentials intact. I was planning on an auxillary switch (the handle bar add-on type) for an activation point. That or mounting it between the handle bar clamps.
Steve, while at first glance the kill switch appears to be redundant, don't be fooled. It is an important piece of safety equipment. Instant kill can be a lifesaver, remember the fuel tank is sitting between your legs!

Faster. Easier to reach. I've used it myself, rather than the key when my bike has been down. Basically, it's a failsafe, and it's there for a reason. Don't mess with it.

    Robert,

This set up should give hazard flashers.

    Thanks MiCarl,
Digikey #FR601DICT-ND diode ought to work just fine for this application. 6 amps and less than a buck a pop.

Looking back at this I realize I made a mistake. Diode should be at least 5A rated.

That's a good load on the flasher too. Should be a heavy duty one.
