    Hi FJ folks!

I have a (best guess) 1986 YX600 engine in a pretty bad shape. Cylinder head might be recoverable, but camshafts are definitely done. I have looked around eBay and found:

    • a few YX600 heads, no cams
    • lots of FJ600 heads and cams (around 1984)
Would anybody happen to know, whether FJ600 and YX600 heads or at least valves and cams are compatible? I know they share gaskets and valve covers.

    Thanks in advance!

It appears that the head is the same, as well as the exhaust camshaft. The intake camshaft is different (probably a slightly different profile) but since the basic head casting is the same, the cams will be interchangable. The FJ600 cam is probably a little bit more aggressive than the YX600 camshaft, but that's just a guess. Intake and exhaust valves and associated bits are all the same between FJ600 and YX600 engines.
