    Fellow XJ'ers,

With 2300+ members and untold guests, how many original owners?

I've had my 650 Seca since 1982. Still in showroom condition. And yes, I do ride it.

It would be nice if you have documented all the work you had to have done to that bike, over the years, Marc.

Most of these 25 Year old machines are Fuse Panel weary, Gas Tank Rusty and Alternator and Starter Brush needing.

Can you give me the miles on that "One Owner" when you had special maintenance done?

    Work to date:

Replaced the electronic ignition (15 years)
Rewired one of the fuses (20 years)
Added: koni's (year 1), krausers (year 1), small sport fairing (year 1), fork brace (year 3), fiamms (year 5), steel braided cables (year 15, but should have done that long ago)
    currently about 30k
I've been riding my Kaw Voyager a little more.
Very picky about appearance and keeping up with maintenance.

I bought mine off the original owner in 1981, the same year it was built. It had about 3000 kms on it and had been crashed. Bought it back from insurance - it was a write off - put $1000.00 worth of parts on it and I've ridden it ever since.

I bought my 82 Xj750 Maxim from the original owner. He bought it in North Dakota. I have the owners manual and tool kit that came with it. He had the receipt from where he spent about $900 on it in 2004. That includes 2 tires that are still practically brand new. Him and his wife really loved it. Long ago she would sneak it out and ride it when he was at work. I guess he outgrew the bike when he got his $17,000 Harley.

I got my XJ 750 from the second owner, my father. He bought it in 1984, two years old, and gave it to my step brothers grandfather in the late 1990's. My step-grandpa drove it a few times back and forth to arizona, where he had it licensed (cheaper), and a few times around there, and it had been garaged about 6 years before my pop got it back. A year later it was mine and now it is running and gettin better slowly but surely. I used to ride on the back of this bike to preschool and kindergarden, no bull, till my pop got a ticket for no helmet w/ my older brother! That was back in the late 80's!! I know much about the history of my bike, minus the first two years!
