I have this elbow-joint like thing on the lower triple tree that is threaded in both ends bot nothing attached to it. I do not see it in the parts book, either. What is the function of this?[IMG]

Am I supposed to be using it somehow? I have a braided line that is running alongside it (P.O. duct taped it as you can see).

Originally the brake lines were in 2 sections. One from the master cylinder to that joint, and from that joint to the caliper or calipers. I have seen some aftermarket braided lines that are designed to go directly from the master cylinder to the caliper or calipers. I personally chose to keep that joint in place and in use on both 650's when I put braided line on but I am unaware of any detrimental effects of not using it.

with stainless steel lines you would not notice anything due to the improvment from the ss lines.
