Hello, getting to know my new old 82 Maxim. Last week my fuel was low so it indicated my fuel was low on the panel. Filled up the tank and fuel is still on?? Any suggestions what may be causing this? Thanks in advance.

What is your history with the bike? Has the light "always" been on (with you thinking that the light is on because the fuel was low) since you became the owner?

Was it previously working properly with this being a new condition?

I'm not sure if the indicator light would fail ON or OFF if the sender is not working properly.

I'm sure someone will respond shortly.

No, the light has not always been on. I bought the bike, light off. Did some riding, and the light came on, I knew I was probably low on fuel when the light went on. Then filled up the tank and the light is still on.

Remove the tank and check that the sending unit is plugged in.
