In your opinion between the 1982 750 Maxim and the 1983 750 midnight Maxim which is more wanted by someone ?

The Midnight is less common, and a bit nicer to look at. I never did mind the looks of the ATARI, because of all the cool features it has, but the '82 is not the sort of machine (in terms of style) that most people see and then lust after.

looks like someone already has a xj750j so the midnight would be more wanted by someone.

When I bought my '83 XJ550 brand new in 1985, the dealer also had an "atari" equipped 750 for sale. The digital guages were a minor factor in my decision not to go with the 750.

The "Atari" gauge cluster really caught my eye. Thought it was a very cool innovation and way ahead of most bikes on the road at that time.
