Didn't see the footer on mobile & was unaware they didn't make the maxim in 81 my bad. I'm parting out an 81 right now, plastics are very sunfaded but I have both side covers if your still looking PJC or if there is anything else you might need

I found one. Thinking of 3d scanning it for replicating...but would have to know demand. Took me a yr to find mine.

That would be a cool idea if you have the resources to do that. I am not a business headed kind of guy, so you would have to crunch the numbers and see what you could put them out for. I am sure you would find a calling for them. It just might be a short run once everyone has one. I would take one.

Timbox may need one...hit him with a message. Certainly put them on Ebay...it's be gone...because there are NO right side covers. A drunken fairy took all the right side covers. I looked in England and Australia too. What are you asking for your right side cover?

3d printing has been discussed here before the biggest issue is the size of the printer you need to do the printing.
Next biggest issue is if it will anger Yamaha to the point that they want you to pay them a licensing fee.
the demand is another problem many need them but are they willing to pay for them.
there is also the 750 maxim side cover made of aluminim and plastic

I search ebay every day for right side covers.

my wife gave me 3 right side covers for Christmas 550 650 and 750 maxim covers. I did not think she was listening when I told her how rare they are.
so now I need 3 bikes to put them on.

Does that make the rest of my 750 midnight maxim just a pile of parts being that it came with the correct right side cover? Hahahaha

    every part deserves to ride;)

your midnight is a gold mine of parts if you can find someone in need of all the gold trim.
of course it becomes supply and demand.
I have seen a set of xj900 side covers and fuel tank on creigs list for over 10 months supply but little demand
