Hey guys so I just bought a great 650 secca. I've run into a problem. On the left of the handlebars, the clutch lever, I replaced the whole lever Assembly. Now There was an old 2 pronged fork cable that runs up into that piece and I cannot Trace it to a source. The cable needs to be replaced it's melted. I cannot decided what it's used for. Any help with this problem would be amazing. Thanks again.

What did you replace the lever assembly with? One from the same model? And why?

By cable, do you mean electrical wire, or braided steel control cable?

If it is electrical wire, there are colors in the insulation (there may be a black sheath covering the individual wires). What colors are they?

on the left side it would be the enrichment "choke" cable. the original left controls had a small lever by your thumb the other end goes on the right side of your carbs

I happen to find what this wire was. I know me terms I used are not up to par. New bike owner lol.
Anyways this cable is a clutch hand lever SAFETY SWITCH. The old one was melted and needs to be replaced now, as it is just exposed wires. Any advice where I could locate this part?

Start a conversation with Chacal. Yamaha discontinued that part around two years ago, so if he doesn't have any left you'll have to search Ebay for a used one.
