Hey guys, I just wanted to post and let you all know about yet another ebay listing for a 4x Carburetor repair / rebuild kit with O-Rings instead of seals . Why with the O-rings ?? They dont even fit! The listing has 4 five star reviews, but not from verified purchasers. They also are not written reviews, just stars so id wager they are fake. The listing title: 4x Carburetor Carb Repair rebuild Kit yamaha xj650, and it was a waste of 32$! Sellers name: Damineding

There should be 4 small o-rings for the idle mixture screws.
What seals are missing? The ones for the float needle seats?
None of the kits will have throttle shaft seals included.

Instead of sending me the throttle shaft seals they sent just O-Rings, like the type used on a sink lol. I really even tried seeing if they fit, and they were the wrong dimensions even. Such a joke, I was just laughing to my self . I guess your right about them not having any kits with the seals, but how can you call it a complete rebuild kit with out them?

I was going to make a post about how to deal with it when a transport company damages your bike during transport and refuses to fix what they broke.

To my knowledge, no rebuild kits have ever come with throttle shaft seals. None of the kits for motorcycles I have owned have anyway.
Start a conversaation with Chacal to get them.

That's easy. File an insurance claim. Let them deal with it.

No, legally they are supposed too, but it took me 3 months of fighting and calling and calling to get them to fix it. They claimed the bike was damaged by me after they dropped it off, and that I was only after the money. However that particular bike ( Ducati Monster) Had just been serviced before they transported it and I could prove they broke it. Since my bike sat in storage for some time, and was handled by three different agencies, they all claimed not at fault and tried to leave me with the 900$ bill to fix it.

those kits come with fuel rail orings that are not the correct size to thin, also have idle mixture screws spring, washer and o ring. comes in 4 packages 1 for each carb.
float valve assembly comes with aluminim washer instead of copper. also the carb bowl gasket is rubber.
I picked up a kit from the china supplier for 23$ I was going to test it in an extra set of carbs.
the kit is worth the price just for the bowl drain screws. which is the only parts I am going to use out of the kit. they seem to seal and allow level check but I use antisieze on the drain screws, I do recall another post about the drain screws leaking during fuel level test
Just wanted to see what was in the kit for 23$

Not to knock HL but you get what you pay for. if price is too good to be true ..........
after all a needle valve assembly alone typicaly costs 20$ on ebay from KL

Those "o" rings were for the brass fuel delivery tubes that connect the individual carbs in the set.

Yeah, I put aside the carbs I rebuilt with the Chinese kit and went with another carb set and just used the existing parts cleaned up.
Excepting bowl gaskets and float needles/seats. The second set performed a whole lot better.
