I picked up a 1980 Maxim from my uncle who could no longer ride.

I'm just looking for any tips or things I should be on the lookout for or aware of on an older bike. It was ridden recently (hasn't sat very long) and the tires and such look good. My uncle had suggested that I get the carbs tuned and synchronized just as a precaution.

    Thank you!

Sign up for an MSF course if you have not done so already, and get a copy of Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Hough.
