Hey peeps tried to upgrade front springs and bought some out of a catalogue. Turned out way off they would not fit down the fork tubes.

The measurement of springs that are up front currently are 465mm length and 26 diameters anybody know how I would be able to find a set springs with those dimensions aftermarket. The sprinff sent were 28 mm in diameter
565 mm length way off they assured me they were correct for 82 xj750 d2

Not the most technical way to do it, but the springs are long, and don't actually collapse fully in the tubes on compression, there's a bumper, so you can put a spacer on the top of the spring to stiffen them slightly. However, if you put too thick a spacer in, the coil will bottom, harshly, and suck, or prematurely sack out your springs.

On another note, adding thicker fork oil (heavier weight) will stiffen the fork through the travel.

Or by slightly overfilling the fork with oil (STD weight) by a few ml, approx 10% of capacity, the fork will stiffen near the midrange to bottom of travel, resisting bottoming but still soft in the beginning (my favorite, very effective) :)
    Hope this helps!

Thanks Colin much appreciated on the advice very little on the net in relation to the xj 750 D2. I returned the springs and regarding forks put some heavier oil in the forks and turned up the anti-dive to max setting seems to have helped a bit
