Here is a link to an xj550 SECA photo. I really like the windscreen on this bike.

Can anyone tell me what brand it is and maybe where I could get one?

The bike also has a nice looking oil cooler. Any info on that would be great also.

I recently bought a flyscreen off eBay similar to that, cost $60 + Shipping. Flyscreen Says it fits 7" sidemount headlights but fit the 8" on my 650 with a bit to spare. Really nice looking and great customer service. cruzerjd

Never used a screen and am beginning to find my neck aches like hell after fighting the wind these days, do those tiddly little screens actually deflect the wind?

my seca 550 had one very similar to that on it when i bought it. i didnt like it though cause the top of it always made it look like there was a slight bump in the road in front of me. mine wasnt tinted though like the one in the pic. i still have it in my garage with some other stuff. if anyones interested, ill take a pic of it and post it up.

    Thanks!

    dwcopple,

I see an emblem in the corner of the one I posted the link to, but I can't read the emblem. Did yours have the white and red emblem?

I tried to tag on the links for Flyscreen 1 and Flyscreen 2 and they take me to a photo viewing website and I am not able to find these pictures. Do I need to log in to view them?

alright its been awhile since ive looked at this thing and it is bigger than i remember. its probably bigger than you were looking for because i think it is a good bit larger than the one you posted about. but anyway, here it is. it was mounted by two brackets to the headlight and two clamps to the handlebars. ive got all of the mounting stuff in a box. if youre not into, no big deal. if you like it, let me know and maybe we'll make a deal. im right outside philly so id have to ship it to ya. ive also got two fairings that i got with the bike. im gonna post them up soon cause i dont want them.

    Looks like a Puig/Motoplastic: http://www.puig.tv/

    - try to do a product search (Manufacturer: Yamaha/XJR1300/Windscreens for motorbikes)

Prices in US seem outrageous, though, compared to europe (Germany):
    http://www.louis.de/_30b1327749217ecb4c ... r=10006508

I had one mounted on the Maxim that was shortened a bit (see gallery) and the misses changed it for an original.

They work quite well considering their size and IMO looks better than the bigger ones..

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

    That's the one.

I have some business associates in Germany. Maybe they can help me check it out. I do not see the Yamaha XJ550 SECA listed.

I'll have to see if they can match it up with one of the current models.

Where did you find pricing? Did you log into the PUIG site?

    You´re welcome 8)

Allthough the Seca is not listed (xj600n is) I think the screen is quite universal in the mounting. (The same 4 order#´s cover all the yamaha models on Louis´site - only difference are the colours (Clear, Smoke, Blue and Black). The included brackets are attached to the headlight brackets - or to aftermarket brackets attached to the fork tubes.

The pricing is listed in the product search on Puig´s site- but the listed eropean prices are far higher than Louis´ (nationwide german accessory retailer) prices - so you might find US prices IRL more reasonable than the ones on Puig´s site.

The Louis link in my post apparently don´t open correctly until the second time you click on it... (and Louis, by the way, lists the XJ550).

    Good luck!

Oh, and by the way: The oilcooler probably is the standard mounted that almost all european XJ´s are fitted with (like this one): http://www.xj650.de/galerie/uli/index.htm

    - only the 550 in your photo-link has a stainless (Va) steel cover mounted.

(The oilcoolers are quite common on the german Ebay, so maybe your connection can help you out here too - just be sure to get a complete set (radiator/pipes and the filter housing "plate").
