Im getting a xj 650 seca running. It sat for about 18 months with Cal gas in it, & the petcock on "prime". What a mess.
Anyhow, I think I got everything cleared & b;lown out. Great post about stuck drain screws, btw- I got 2 still stuck. Anyhow, the viton tip on one needle is trashed. I went to Yam, & they wanted $70. (SEVENTY) bucks for a new one.
Im thinkin theres another way. the gal wants to sell the machine- its been off the road 14 yrs when she got it (ran beautifully) then sat another yea & a half, it was too much bike for her.
Anydirection appreciated. Damned if Ill pay $70 for a needle valve....

These guys have your float needles: http://tinyurl.com/4llra To loosen those stuck drain screws you can boil the carb bowls which will loosen the varnish that holds them stuck. I have done this with success and have also heated them over a bunsen burner and had that loosen them. Make sure the rubber gasket is removed so you don't damage it.
