I don't get why Yamaha doesn't sell the XJ900 Diversion in North America.
From all reports, it's a great all round sport touring bike and looks fantastic.
But for some reason, riders in Canada and the US can't have 'em!
C'mon Yamaha, get yur poop together!

I just searched Yamaha's website and got nothing, so I'm guessing that the Diversion is not in production anymore. Replaced by the FJR, I'd think.

yeah but it woulda been nice to have gotten them over here between 1984 and 2002 or whenever Yam replaced them with a bike costing almost 50% more. That way we could buy some good used deals but not in this universe!

They don't offer them in the states because they're not the biggest, fastest, craziest, overpriced, testoserone injecting, ego builders. Frat boys wouldn't be caught dead on such a reasonable tourer.

No, we must feed our extreme want to be the best. Only market to one group. That way all the money is spent on shaving mindless pounds in the fight to the fastest.

I mean, why would we market something different? That would be foolish. Everyone wants unusable speed and bragging rights...Right?
