    Hello

I have had a terrible Saturday - I started to replace metal and friction plates of clutch and managed to lose the ring set (number 10 on the figure) blocking the last metal plate from moving (it just blew away when trying to get it off and after searching for roughly 3 hours I just decides to find a new one).

Would it be wise to make the ring from a thin wire (instead of buying a new one and waiting the part for two weeks to arrive)?

You don't want that coming loose and mingling with the plates so I would err on the side of safety and get the OE part.

You don’t have the original on hand to use as a template to make a new one, and it’s often the simplest looking parts that are the most difficult to make correctly. You also don’t know what the properties of the original are in order to select the proper gauge, strength, durability, hardness, and springiness of wire. Failure of that part will cause a big headache, so get the OEM replacement and ride without worry.

    Thanks for the advice.

I did remove the wire clip just because the new ordered metal plates set included the last 2.3 mm thick plate, so I decided to have that replaced as well. Anyhow, I decided to follow your instructions - the new OEM wire clip is on the way and I hope to be back on track in a couple of weeks. Thanks.
