So, have decided to tackle the rear brakes on my 1982 XJ 750. Pulled out the spindle, and having a problem getting the drums and the brake plate out on the right side of the bike. It doesn’t appear there is enough room to pull it out. It seems nothing can be easy when I decide to dive into something. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!!

Partially deflating the tire makes it easier to roll the tire out. You can turn it a bit (as if you were making a slow-speed left turn) to clear the fender.

Sorry, for the dumb question, so I can deflate the tire, but not sure what you mean turning to the left? It’s obviously on the center stand. Turn the front to the left??
