Does anyone the best way to replace the vent/breather value on the pumpkin? Mine got damaged and i have a replacement for it. I have no clue how to extract it without breaking something. I thought it would be a easy pull, but it looks sealed.

Try heat and an easy out, if it wont turn then its cast in and will have to be drilled out

Note that these valve "press-fit" into the final drive housing.
a little heat ought to get it moving for you

So it sounds like once i get it out, i will have an issue getting the new one in. Oh how i love working on these old bikes. One step forward two steps back.

Put the new one in a freezer overnight, it will shrink a tiny bit, and make installation easier.

How's the weather by you? You could add to the freezer tip by parking the bike so that the sun beats on the final drive housing all day while the vent is in the freezer. Would hopefully go in much easier but you need to do it quickly

Pull the final drive. Drop it and the new breather at your local machine shop. Shouldn't cost more than $40 to have the work done, and you get to blame someone else if it goes wrong.

thanks for all the tips. I'll try the freezer and spray it with an upside down air can. its supposed to be 80 on sat so I'll get up early to paint the pumpkin and let the hot sun dry the paint and "stretch" out the hole.
