Well got my new to me 1983 Maxim 650 running the other day. Had to replace the fuel and vacuum line and with a bit of starter fluid it fired right up. Had to adjust the idle way down but after that took it around the neighborhood a few time and it ran good. Once it got hot had to adjust it down some more but think I've got it now. It's a bit loud but I actually like it. It's going to need a new choke cable at some point and needs fork seals done. Adjusted the rear brake but didn't get to test it afterwards

Will definitely be digging into it more just want to get it able to pass inspection for the moment so I can ride it and find all it's kinks. Will definitely be asking more questions I'm sure. My first older bike that I'll be working on. Only other bikes were 2005 Yamaha fz6 and a 1983 Honda ascot 500

Nice looking bike you have there. Give her the TLC she needs (not too much as she looks clean). Get her safe to ride and enjoy the rest of the summer riding. Ascot 500 is a great starer bike.
