After a closer inspection of the the rubber intake boots on my 750, I noticed that the cracks on the outside do not go all the way through to the inside. I am wondering if it might be possible to repair them for now since I am on a very tight budget and can't afford new ones at this time. I was wondering if I were to coat them with some high temp. black RTV silicone if they would get me by until I can afford new ones. Has anyone here ever tried this? If so, what were the results?

Yes this works well and is one of the recommended repairs.

The RTV or Black Epoxy is the way to go.

Yes!! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! Wow this will save me some money and relieve some stress for now. When I first posted this question I thought I might get an answer that went something like...No! Don't do it, it's not worth it, it will only cause problems down the road. Now that I know I can fix them myself, I can get the old bike running again sooner than I thought. :D
