    Considering its faster, handles better, stops quicker, does more MPG, I wouldn't want to trade down to a Harley, either !!

    I "cut my teeth' on a 75' sportster [shovelhead].
    I didn't know any better at the time.
    I do now.

    There is noting wrong with an HD. Especially those built before 1974.

    I had a sportster with factory chrome frame. so long ago think it was a 1968

    The stater bike for a big HD I thought was a older style Goldwing? Get an old 78 gl1000 or 1100, good trainer for a HD. Not too sure if I will ever own a HD, maybe a XB12 someday but not one of the other type. I did see this yr HD is coming out with some Triumph looking clones, Scramblers I think.

    In my ad, the reference to "cutting their teeth" was in regards to the late '70s and early '80s where a lot of bike riders were into Hondas and other Jap bikes ......more dependable than Harleys at that time.....and cheaper too....
