Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here and I would like to start by thanking all the very helpful members on here that seem very passionate about these bikes. I spent several hours on here when I first got mine last year but unfortunately I'm thinking about parting it out. It's an 82 xj650 maxim and it did run when I first bought it but the carbs needed some obvious attention since gas would pour out of the air box side. So I decided to pull them off and fix the floats and whatever else I could find wrong. And that's when I came on here and realized what exactly I was getting myself into since the previous owner had also replaced the airbox with pods. The bike is complete minus the airbox and is in pretty decent shape actually so I figured I would come on here to see what my options would be with parting it out. I know I could probably get the thing running right eventually but I'm really not sure if I want to deal with it at this point. So let me know if I might have any parts you could use and thanks again for your time.

parting out is/can be a long process.

carbs assembled can sell for 100$ give or take 20$.
    Tci 50 to 100 $

    voltage regulator 10$

test the relays and sell them.

some stuff that sell quickly some drags on forever
have someone here rebuild your carbs.

your needle valves are the problem with the carbs.
you can sell a running bike quicker than parts

you will end up junking a lot of the bike.

a titled frame gets money too
