i need a size #80 pilot air jet for an '83 xj750k. whoever owned the bike before apparently changed all pilot air jets from size 40 to 80 and nobody seems to know where a size 80 can be found. anybody out there have any ideas. i'm desperate!

    thanks, dave greer

    Symptoms?
    Was it running correctly before?
Aftermarket 4 into 1 pipe? Unipod airfilters?

If it was a non-runner before then perhaps there was a reason... what are the size of the other jets - any way someone put them in the wrong holes? I thought the stock needles would be closer to 100 for mains?

Not familiar enough to offer more than that... sorry

the bike has a mac 4-into-1 with uni pods. the main air jets are 225's and the pilots are 80's. i stripped out one of the pilots trying to remove it and can't find another. also, one of the mesh screens on the bottom of the float needle seat is torn and needs to be replaced. all the sources i've looked at show no such screen for that model, but they do show a screen for a maxim x, i think. i'm beginning to wonder if the previous owner did a major a redo on the carbs. after reaching normal temp the bike would start to stumble in the lower revs then progressively get worse. i'm cleaning the carbs again right now but need some parts.
    thanks for any input.
