Turn signals as running lights

    Searched around, but could not find an answer.......
    Are the turn signals supposed to be lit up as running lights on a 1982 xj650 maxim ?
    I have an 83 Honda, and those are lit up.

    no the bulb is a 1 filiment bulb on the xj650 )550 and 750) as well.
    you can install the dual filiment style lights if you want.

    Dual filimaent lights require a dual filiment socket, and some minor wiring changes.

    I have 3 wire turn signals with dual element bulbs , I have these wired to the low beam of the head light , these light up and go out when high beam is switched on .

    a turn signal that is always on and blinks off doesn't sound hard on paper but might not be legal

    Running lights that serve as indicators are legal per federal DOT. State laws may vary (but shouldn't).
