    hey all
    i want to repaint the tank emblems that say "yamaha" and the side cover ones that sat "maxim". i dont want to remove them from where they are. what can i use that won't peel or whatever? and what color are they spose to be?

    You could try the tiny pots of enamel that model makers use, not sure of colour but fron memory yamaha was white on black background.

    Model enamels like Testors aren't really designed to withstand the elements, so they won't last long if you keep your bike outside. You can clearcoat them with a good automotive clear to make them last longer.

    Removing them really is not dificult, The tank emblems on mine have 2 short screws in each and the side covers have 2 spring clips that pop off easy with a dental pic.
    I went to my local napa store and got duplicolor 2 part paint system, crome yellow as the finish coat ( looks gold ) sprayed them up and then did the black with flat black and a couple of artist brushes. they look as good as NOS
