    Hello all.

I know this is an XJ based forum, but seeing as YX600's share many parts with with other Yamaha models I thought I would join up.
I would like to know if an exhaust system off an XJ550 could be potentially fitted to the YX, with the possibility of some modifications to either the mounting points on the bike or the exhaust.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers Andy

Welcome! Not sure how much info we can share. I am sure there are some here familiar with your bike, I am not. Happy to have you.

My XJ 550 (seca) has a YX600 engine fittted along with an after market Alfa exhasut from the 80s. The YX frame though is from an XJ550 (Maxim) but I doubt
it's much different in that area.

To summarize any 550 exhaust will probably fit but the 550 (Maxim) one will be closest.

Thanks for your reply, I don't mind a little modification or even attempting to make one myself, I have come across a set of brand new XJ550 stainless steel Motad down pipes that aren't too expensive, which I should be able to something with.

Hello fellow yx600 owner. Ive been looking for a pair of slip on exhaust mufflers for my radian since the oem ones are pretty rusted through. Not to hijack the thread, but if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

yx 600, and radian use same engine as xj600, if that helps, only not a lot of good xj600 exhausts around

Very true, my YX actually has an XJ engine in it, apparently the ignition system is slightly different according to the bloke I bought it off.
    Thanks for the replies

    Cheers Andy
