I bought a set of taller handlebars a few years ago and of course the stock front brake cable was too short. I had a local shop make a cable to fit but it broke over the summer so right now I have one rigged up (yeah scary thought isn't it). So instead of having the shop make me a new cable every 3 years I was thinking of swapping to the traditional bar mounted master cylinder to eliminate the cable altogether. Has any one done this before? It looks like I will have to replace the throttle, and switch assembly as well so I have been looking at used one from other bikes. I assume I need a master cyl from a bike that has dual calipers. What about sport bikes with dual piston dual calibers, would that work? This would also be a good time to switch over to the steel braided lines, anyone know of other bikes that have the same length lines?

Oh yeah, what about the anti-dive thing, will that effect the size master cyl I need?

    Hey Fox,

Had a local shop switch my lines to SS last year. They didn't use a kit or anything, just fabbed the lines from SS stock and hooked it up with new banjo bolts. Also had them cut off that useless anti-dive set-up. Brakes are rock-solid... I highly recommend!
