I'm wanting a larger fuel tank for my 650. Now, I've read that a 750 is basically a drop in "larger" replacement. I also read somewhere that an 1100 tank would require some modifications. Which modifications would that be? The only physical differences I see are the two petcocks and the seperate vacuum valve on the 1100 unit. That can be dealt with easily. I was wondering if the 1100 unit would physically fit my 650's frame?

I only ask because I'm having an issue finding 750 tanks locally. There's a bunch of 1100 tanks here.

    Thanks in advance,

    Wink,
I swapped my 750 Seca tank (5+ gallons) for one off of a 650 Maxim. It's a perffect swap right down to the fuel sending unit. I have someone interested in my Seca tank for the same reason as you - more fuel. I do miss the extra fuel. Now I have to fuel up around 110-120 miles. PD

I've never tried it, but i've heard the 1100 tank is about an Inch longer from front mounts to rear mounts, and thats the main problem, plus if I remeber i think it sits too low on the mounts so it will hit the valve cover.

Its a much better solution to just dig around for a good 750 tank

Does anyone have any clue if a tank from an 1100 will fit a 550 frame?

it won't fit a 650, so i doubt it would fit the 550, just my 2 cents
