Hello everyone. My 1982 xj750 Seca was running beautifully until I had the brilliant idea to check the plugs in case it was running too lean. Because the first plug on the right was very white I went and turned all the pilot screws a little to the left. Since then I can't run more the a mile before the plugs foul up with soot (dry). After numerous attempt I am now at (left to right) 1 turn, 1 turn, 1 turn and 2 turns. And funny enough the one that never fouls is the right one at 2 turns.
My question: is 1 turn and less ok?
    Thanks
    Benoit

I can't say what is going with your bike, but my experience with my uneven plug burning was that I had little success moving the mixture screws getting them correct and set them all 2 1/2 turns out and replaced the floats doing a wet set that finally gave me a nice light brown plug color. Of course it wasn't as easy as this sounds I also had the carbs off and replaced the needles and seats all the jets and new floats also prior to the last adjustment discussed... along with the valve adjustment ,compression test and carburetor sync.

Try turning mixture screws in fully till seated IE: till you can't tun in anymore. Turn out 2 1/4 out. Ride bike for several miles and then check plugs . If it still is rough back out 1/4 turn , not there are is no set formula for all the screws to be set the same.
