80 xj650 maxim. How does this needle come off? Is it threaded or just glued on?

I dont wanna break it, the speedo needle snapped in half on me and I'm curious if the weight matters at all because I'm going to try to make one in blender and 3D print it.

needle is a 2 part item ,plastic and a brass insert that presses onto speedo. not built to be removed. you can glue a tooth pic or tube from spray can onto it.
pulling needle can ruin speedo if pin is not secured well.

you could remove plastic part from brass insert.

the hard part is putting on correctly so speedo is accurate

I'm late as balls but I did get it off without messing it up. I had a 3D printed sword laying around and thought it would be perfect as a speedo needle. I had to dremel the architecture a little bit so the handle didn't catch but it turned out sweet. I had my girlfriend drive her car behind me as I hit the speed limits and it it measured up correctly from residential limits all the way to interstate limits. I call it "Emberhot, sword of speed reading." Still on there but a little faded from the sun.
