Out riding today and randomly lost my tach... no warning.
I stopped and realized I had no neutral light.
Upon closer inspection I noticed I had no horn, signals, or brake lights either.
I have running lights, hi low beam, fuse appears good.

Any direction to start in before I test every wire on the bike would be great.

Thanks in advance for all the great help and suggestions.

How is the fuse box itself? I had to replace mine all the fuses were good but the clips were bad under the fuses.

If it's the original fuse box the clips break. Better with a blade type fuse box.

If we are talking 85 XJ700 in your signature you won't find a fuse box as they are mounted under the indicator light panel with the exception of the main. The Flasher fuse would be the suspect fuse that powers the circuits that you mentioned were not working.

Not the type of fuse box I was thinking of but that's what's great about this site, ask for help and it gets the ball rolling.

Now the thing to do is figure out why the fluse blew. Start looking for worn insulation around the steering head.
