Looking for some help. Recently purchased a barn find 1981 Seca 550 (no where close to running). It came with an aftermarket key which works all 3 locks (ignition, gas cap and seat lock). I'd like to find the key code but the sticker on the underside of the ignition module has long since disappeared. Is it noted anywhere else on the bike or can it be determined through the aftermarket key? TIA

I think the steering column has a sticker that may help, did you do a search on the right upper corner ?

There is a code on the underside of the ignition switch assembly. This is a picture of me trying to read it with a mirror.

Sorry, just noticed in the original post that said sticker is gone. I think you can just get the key duplicated.

is there a number on the key?

there are several styles of yamaha keys with the correct blank you can have the key cut.

I would think a locksmith could measure key and give you the code

There are locksmiths on eBay that will make your key if you send them the keycode. I ordered two that way and they work just fine.
