Bike off road for winter after 3314km of trouble free riding!
Took valve cover off and got these readings

    I. 127. 127 152 38
    E 152 152 152 152

Tempted just to do one intake the 38

    Others seem close. Opinions?

I'm assuming that you rechecked the .38 on #4 Intake. The range for intake is 0.11-0.15 M & M's that seems wildly out of range. In any case you are better off erroring too loose rather than too tight on valve clearance. All your exhaust valves are tight the range is 0.16-0.20. Exhaust valves get hotter than intake valves so they expand more. Just curious how do you measure to the 1/1000th of a MM? that's awfully precise for feeler gauge.

The gauge I use has both imperial and metric on each gauge.
Going to do compression test on close intake before I pull shim .
So close on exhaust still tempted to soldier on for another season,
At start of this season balanced carbs with gauges ran super.

It's best to use a metric feeler gauge. It's more accurate and no confusion.

Just an old farmer working with what he has.

Anyhow, just did compression test 120 on a low battery.
pulled shim out it's a 265. Wonder of wonders my local Yamaha dealer has a new 255, should do.

    Redid exhaust got 17
