I just bought an FZ600 but it's missing the solo seat cover. I'd rather have an OEM than a cheap aftermarket one.

That is a rare piece, good luck.
I had a Corbin saddle on mine, it made a huge difference compared to the postage stamp Yamaha supplied.
Have a look at my thread here, it might be of some help to your restoration - https://xjbikes.com/forums/threads/fz600-resto-the-hotrod-xj.99949/
I've since sold the bike as it was just too small to fit my carcass. I still like them, start a thread for your restoration, lets see pics.

Thanks for the info Simmy. I just bought a used Corbin for it off of E-Bay. I have a 91 Corvette that I'm in the middle of rebuilding, so the bike will have to sit till the Corvette is done. But I got such a great deal on it, it was too good to pass up. $1500 delivered to me for a mostly complete (it's missing the lower fairings) bike, and it already has a nice Yoshimura 4 into 1 on it. It's an 88, but I'm going to paint it in 86 colors just because I like the blue upper fairing and I like the strobe stripe style on the 86 more than the later version.

It's going to get a full tear down, get the frame powder coated, go through the engine to re-seal everything and make sure it's all good inside. I do want to do the stage II Megacycle cams just for a little extra power.

Back in 86 I rode a friends FJ and remember that it had a lot of engine vibration - the mirrors were useless because of it. I later had an FJ 1100 and it also had a lot of vibration. Was yours like that? I'm thinking about having the bottom end balanced when it's apart to try to minimize that. My GPz's spoiled me - they were butter smooth at any rpm.

Actually, I had already read your rebuild thread - it's early here, my brain isn't quite working yet :p

Yep, I found those already. I'm hoping to find OEM, if not I'll go that route.
