Hey guys. Trying to put my front brake caliper on, but for some reason the bolt hole for the caliper doesn't line up with the mounting hole on the fork. Am I doing something wrong here, or is something bent or busted?

    Plzhelp,

Are the brake pads correct? The caliper pivots on the bolt rather than slide back and forth like on a car so the pad material is on a diagonal. If you do not have the correct pads for the bike they may have a different angle so the bolt hole may not line up.

I was told they were correct, but I'll pick up some new ones just to make sure.

This is what new brake pads look like. The pad material is cut at an angle to account for the caliper to be able to pivot on the bolt.

New pads fixed the issue. Old pads were the right measurements on their relative pieces, but the slant was the opposite direction.
