XJ650 Turbo Fuel System

    Hi all,

    New member here and first Yamaha. I'm not new to old bikes or working on them, but I just picked up a 1982 XJ650 Turbo and need a little help. Along with the bike I got hundreds of extra parts but the fuel system is completely gone. I've ordered an aftermarket fuel pump, but I need a regulator. Is a standard automotive boost-referenced regulator sufficient? Has anyone found one that has a small form factor to fit near the carbs?

    How about the check valve that is in the system, is there an aftermarket replacement or do I need to hunt ebay?
    In addition to the fuel system I also do not have the rubber boots or clamps that connect the surge tank to the carburetors, any source for those?

    Really what I need help with is finding the parts, I'll list everything I need below:

    Fuel pressure regulator
    Fuel check valve
    Surge tank to carburetor boots
    Petcock or rebuild kit

    Len will get you hooked up with good parts....you can also reach out to Brian at BD Designs for carb related parts as well as graphics if you need them.

    The aftermarket pump that you bought.....hopefully it's not one of the 20 buck Chinese specials being sold for every bike ever built. I swear to God they told me they had my fuel pump for my H1....it's a 2 stroke with no fuel pump...lol

    Anyway, your pump pressure needs to exceed boost.....I installed a inline filter and solenoid valve prior to the pump to prevent leakage into the cylinders from a bad float valve.
